Companies do use codenames for their products, and Samsung has a history of keeping the codename over the years. The codename for Samsung’s upcoming smartphone has surfaced: S24. It will be called MUSE and further categorized as MUSE 1, 2, and 3, respectively, for the S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

Apart from this, reports have indicated that the device will have an optical zoom lens of 5x for the S24 Ultra. It’s still not clear whether it’s a 3x to 5x continuous zoom lens or just a 5x lens upgrade from the 3x lens that has been there since the S20 series. If Samsung upgrades it, it obviously means the company will use a brand-new, powerful optical zoom sensor from Samsung.

Talking about other aspects of the camera module, it will have a 200 MP sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10x optical zoom that may assist the 5x zoom. Under the hood, Samsung will use what’s best for the customer, most probably the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8th Gen 3.

Samsung One UI 6.0

The Android 14-based custom skin, One UI 6.0, could be unveiled faster than any other version before. This time, the first One UI 6.0 Beta build for the Galaxy S20 Series will be released in the third week of July, which is around the same time when Google officially drops Android 14. This is also a perfect time since Samsung is going to hold an Unpack event in July to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Tab S9, and Watch 6. On the same day, Samsung is most likely to also announce the Galaxy XR Plan, better known as their AR/VR headset.

There are some smartphones that have been killed, and the Galaxy S20 series will not have One UI 6.0. Considering the powerful hardware, this phone is going to die. Even the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be dropped by Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE

Recently, the battery of the S23 FE has been spotted, suggesting that the company is planning to launch the S23 FE for a specific market. The device will have a powerful chipset, which is likely to be an Exynos SoC.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

New details about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 have surfaced. Despite this, it has been confirmed that the company will be using the same design for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which means that the Galaxy Z Fold will have the same design as the camera. All major changes are coming to Samsung’s new water droplet hinge design, which is said to be 14% better than its predecessors. This won’t be very noticeable. It looks like Samsung is focusing more on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 this year, as sales of foldable phones, such as the Galaxy Z Flip, are more promising than the Galaxy Fold series.

As the device is going to have the biggest design change with custom-designed Google apps for the outer display as well as third-party social media apps, Samsung is also increasing production of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 to challenge the iPhone 15 series. This device is said to be launched at the Unpacked event, which is on July 27th in South Korea.

It is very early to say, but some reports and leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will bring significant changes next year. According to reports, the Fold 6 will keep the same camera sensor but will see a major upgrade in terms of design, especially in terms of the aspect ratio of the external display.

Galaxy Z Flip 5

At this point, we almost know everything about the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which comes with a major upgrade to the Bigger Cover Screen and better Dex functionality. Now, we also have the price, which has been leaked. The device is expected to cost €1,299 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 with the same storage configuration costs €1,299 in Europe. This means we are looking at a 20% price hike. Not to mention, the price may vary across different countries because of VAT levels.

We've got the Galaxy S24 Ultra Codename, One UI 6.0, XR, and much more to look forward to next month.

It’s confirmed that we will see a price hike, at least with the Galaxy Z Flip 5, but it is expected that the same will remain the same as Samsung has increased the price of the Galaxy S23 Series but kept the same price in the US. There will be more price-related information that will surface in the coming months.

Samsung Galaxy XR

Recently, Apple released the next-generation iPhone replacement, the Apple Vision Pro. Since Samsung makes things that are used by other companies, like OLED displays for the iPhone, camera sensors and SoCs for the Google Pixel, foldable panels for foldable smartphones, and such, according to a recent report, Samsung is already working on their new 3D Camera sensor for modern AR/VR headsets, which will be able to measure distances of up to 5m at 60 fps. Along with the 3D camera sensor, it is said to have its own chip ISP with two-stack process technology.

As more brands try to make AR/VR devices, Samsung’s business and its products will be utilized with the new Samsung 3D sensor. Before this, Samsung will most likely deploy the sensor in its own Galaxy XR headset, which is rumored to be released later this year. This seems to be a big tech category, as the cheapest Apple Vision Pro is planned for the end of 2025.
