Ahead of Google announcing their Android 14 OS upgrade, Samsung has announced the fourth beta for the Galaxy S23 Series, which brings some major fixes, including a fix for the Google Assistant bug. However, there is still room for improvement, and when Google officially announces Android 14, Samsung is expected to roll out Android 14 to most of their devices.

In less than a week, Samsung dropped the One UI 6 firmware and has several new features and improvements in Samsung’s upcoming Android skin. Please go through the One UI 6 feature roundup to know what they are. The update will improve and prepare the One UI 6 Beta software for the stable release.

Samsung Releases One UI 6 Beta 4 for the Galaxy S23 Series

The latest One UI 6 Beta comes with a ZWIC build, which weighs around 1028MB. The changelog does not mention any major new features but mostly includes a few fixes for OS failures. One of the major issues fixed with the One UI 6 Beta 3 is that swiping up from one corner of the phone does not trigger Google Assistant.

Along with this update, Samsung has also included the October security patch. Before proceeding, Samsung also warned about some issues with this update. There are two major issues related to motion photos, which are not available in the camera app and may cause the app to crash. Another thing to note is that you should avoid enabling maintenance mode, as it may lock your device into an infinite reboot loop.

Furthermore, One UI 6 Beta 4 has minor issues like tweaked emojis, which make it much cleaner, and a slick media player upgrade. There are no other significant issues that currently stand out immediately.

The company seeks to optimize the One UI 6 animation in October; stability could start in the third or fourth week of October. Currently, One UI 5.1 has non-linear animation with the Galaxy Fold 5 and Flip 5. Reportedly, Samsung One UI 6.1, based on the Android 14 update, is said to introduce refreshed animation and transition effects to Galaxy devices.

One UI 6 Beta 4 Release Date and Regions

We can expect One UI 6 to arrive in late October or early November and Beta 4 to be released in more regions alongside the US, South Korea, UK, Germany, Poland, and India. If you have enrolled in the beta, you can enroll through Samsung Members

from the top banner. You will receive the update via OTA, and then you can update from Software Update > Software Update. If an update is available, download and install it.

Another major issue was the failure to log in after launching Samsung Pass and logging out of the Samsung account. Additionally, a notification drawer icon is shown in Material You rather than the original artwork.

There are still known bugs that have yet to be fixed, and it is unclear when they will be addressed. They should be fixed with the following update: Google is about to release the Pixel 8 Series in the third week of October last year, and we can expect One UI 6 to start rolling out in phases in the early to mid-October timeframe.

Besides the Galaxy S23, the One UI 6 Beta Programme is already live for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy A34, and Galaxy A54 series. Furthermore, Samsung is reportedly expanding the Fold 5 and Flip five this week. Other popular devices like the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 have also reached the end of their OS upgrade eligibility with Android 13-based One UI 5.0. The company focuses on more affordable devices such as the Galaxy A21, Galaxy S20 Series, Galaxy Note 20 Series, S20 FE (LTE/5G), Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, and Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51.
