Microsoft released Build 22631.1835to the Dev Channel and also to Beta, and Canary, where it brought some major changes and improvements. These updates include new features such as a modernized File Explorer home and address bar, dynamic lighting, and support for Emoji 15.

The company also brings the new Microsoft Store update along with these new features. It also covers known issues, although there are still some known issues. Microsoft has released Build 22621.1835 and 22631.1835 to the Beta channel. Insider Build 22624 will receive the new update Build 22631 via Enablement Package. Narrator Natural Voice in Chinese and Spanish

With the update, the company introduced a new natural voice in Chinese and Spanish, which allows users to comfortably browse the web, read and write mail, and more. It uses a natural narrator voice that uses modern, on-device text-to-speech, and after downloading, it also works offline. To use the new natural Voice in Chinese and Spanish (Spain and Mexico), follow these instructions:

  • Open Narrator Settings (Shortcut: Win + Ctrl + N), and under Narrator’s Voice, select the Add button that appears next to add natural Voice.
  • Now, choose the language for which you want to install Natural Voice from the list of available voices and then install, but it installs separately.
  • Voice packs are:
    • Chinese Voice: Microsoft Xiaoxiao and Microsoft Yunxi
    • Spanish (Spain): Microsoft Alvaro and Microsoft Elvira
    • Spanish (Mexico): Microsoft Jorge and Microsoft Dalia
  • Select the voice pack you want to install, which takes a few minutes depending on internet download speed, and the new Voice has downloaded.
  • In the Narrator Settings, select your preferred Voice from the drop-down menu in Narrator’s Voice and then choose Voice.

New Modernized File Explorer Home and Address Bar

This new file explorer is powered by Windows App SDK using the WinUI 3. x technology. The Quick Access folder is available for users signed in with their Microsoft accounts. The new WinUI also appears across the Favorites and Recent folders on File Explorer. Obviously, it looks far better than the previous File Explorer, with a consistent look with the Windows 11 design in line.

Not only this but the address bar and the search box also get revamped, placed on the same row just below the tabs. It now intelligently recognizes local vs. cloud folders with built-in status. Talking about OneDrive users, they will notice an address bar featuring a OneDrive sync status and quota flyout.

This new File Explorer is rolling out to a handful of users, which means it’s available to some. Before rolling out to a wider audience, Microsoft wants to gather more feedback to refine File Explorer.

Dynamic Lighting

Now Windows 11 has native control of lighting devices, implementing the Open HID LampArray Standard. With the adoption of this open standard and partnerships with OEMs, Windows 11 supports a wide range of RGB devices, such as ASUS, HP, HyperX, Logitech, Razer, and Twinkly, as well as software support. Users can further customize the behaviour of devices such as keyboards, mice, and other things directly from the Windows Settings.

Microsoft Edge

The release of the new Microsoft Windows 11 brings a slightly new look and feel to the browser. It still feels beautiful while enhancing the browsing experience. The update focuses on increasing efficiency and focuses on the web, along with better support for AI (Co-Pilot) support.

Unlike the previous Edge, it’s now easier to distinguish between web content and browser elements with the new container/modular system. The browser is well-optimized for productivity. The profile icon on the browser has now moved from the right to the left to improve visibility and keep things on the right, which are more actionable, like the Co-Pilot.

  • Detect interaction with Toast, and suggest enabling or disabling the Toast Banner.
  • Emoji 15 Support: new emoji added, like more hearts, animals, and new smiley faces. Users can search, see and can also use.
