Microsoft has begun officially rolling out Android App Support for Windows 11 users today with build 2200.526, which includes a new taskbar feature and bug fixes. Windows 11 has already received KB5010414, and users of stable builds are advised to update to the latest version.

App Support for Android

This is the first time an Android app comes with a public preview. Previously, it was only restricted to the US region. Windows 11 users can now download and install the Android app from the Amazon app store. Not to mention, Amazon has limited apps compared to the Google Play Store, but the Google Play Store is preparing to bring support to Windows 11 in the near future.

Before proceeding, you should also update your Microsoft Store to the latest version.

  • Go to the Windows Store.
  • Head over to the library from the bottom-left corner.
  • When you click “Get update,” it will begin downloading the latest version of the Microsoft Store along with other apps.
  • That’s all!

Taskbar Weather

This was first introduced with the Windows 10 insider build, but it disappeared from the Windows 11 taskbar and was embedded into the widget since then. It now appears on the taskbar. Previously, it was on the bottom-left corner of the display.

Team Share Window by Microsoft Team

Now you can easily share the dedicated app window directly from the taskbar via hovering over the app. You can even tweak the microphone option by either muting or unmuting the icon from the bottom-right corner.

Taskbar Clock on Multi-Monitor

This is one of the most requested features. It used to show only a single clock on the primary window, but now after the update, you can place a taskbar clock with a multi-monitor setup.

Notepad and Media Player have been redesigned

Notepad finally having advance search interface and dark mode support, On the other hand Windows Media Players will not replace the Groove Music and now it can play both Video and Audio profile. It looks more better with the Windows 11 UI.
