Removed iMessage Contact Key Verifications

One of the major upgrades in this build is removing the issue where contact verification for iMessages appeared in search results but was not functional. In the previous build, tapping on it did not open it. However, Beta 2 still needs this feature. We can expect Apple to release this feature in iOS 16.6.

Camera improvements

Safari Technology Preview 17

If you have been utilizing the Safari Technology Preview, you will see the latest resources with version 172, which was available on June 14. However, if you use macOS Sonoma, it drops support for legacy mail plugins. Be cautious before proceeding if you are using Mail in the Mail app.

Screen recording via Siri

Apple included this in iOS 16.5 Beta 1, but it needed to be included afterward. It was in the code, and we don’t know if Apple will release it in the final version of iOS 16.6. This is a fascinating feature, or maybe the company will release it in an alternate version of iOS 17.

Apple is expanding its Tap to Pay feature on the iPhone, which uses NFC, to more US stores later this year. Stores such as Sephora, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, Celine, and Dirar will all have this feature later this year. The company now focuses on high-end stores but will gradually expand to all stores.

This refurbished store has been converted from a coal-fired power station into Apple’s updated flagship store.

Laggy notification center bug

The Notification Centre bug is still present, with major issues and an unpleasant appearance. This has been fixed in the iOS 17 Developer Beta. It doesn’t seem like Apple is committed to fixing it, especially if you have an iPhone 10 or 8. You won’t receive iOS 17.

As for the known issue, it remains the same as in iOS 16.6 Beta 2.

iOS 16.6 has nothing else to report. Performance has been fine, but some users have reported battery life problems. The company might be preparing for iOS 16.6 Beta 4, but there isn’t much new in the build. We will still see another beta build before the RC release. We could see iOS 16.5.1 before the 16.6 final release.
