Microsoft has added Clipboard History syncing between Android and Windows 10 to SwiftKey Beta’s latest update. It was already possible to sync your clipboard across Windows devices, but now you can do so across all platforms. You must enable Cloud Clipboard on your PC and smartphone to sync it across devices.
It appears that the feature is rolling out in stages. Even after updating SwiftKey Beta this morning, I still don’t see the option. You can turn this feature on if it is available to you by following the steps below:
- Launch SwiftKey Beta.
- Choose Rich input.
- Choose Clipboard.
- You can enable clipboard sync.
You must also enable clipboard syncing on your Windows device:
- Start the Windows 10 Settings app.
- Choose a system.
- You can now select the clipboard.t the clipboard.
- Clipboard history should be enabled.
- Sync your devices across all devices.
- The Automatic syncing option is set to Automatically sync text copied.
Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows 11, also supports clipboard syncing, so the feature should work.
It makes sense for clipboard content to sync across devices since so many services sync across them. The ability to copy and paste text between devices is a very welcome addition since people frequently continue conversations or workflows across devices.
Microsoft had another way of syncing clipboards through its Your Phone app before, but having the option directly inside a keyboard app may be more beneficial to users.
