Samsung’s Galaxy Store receive Material You app icon

Google introduced Material You with the release of Android 12, and the company continues to incorporate Material You aesthetics throughout the Android operating system.OEMs are slowly adopting Material You within their apps, and Samsung is also trying to offer a similar Android experience.

With OneUI 5.0, Samsung introduced colour theming and is updating its apps to adopt Material Design. After the launch of its Samsung Galaxy S23 Series, Samsung is focusing on improving its software, as the company aims to become a leader in software support. We have already seen the company launch Android updates before Google pushes them to its smartphones.

Samsung has also started rolling out the February 2023 security patch to the Galaxy Note 20. For the S23, the company has promised to give 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security patches. Today, Samsung released another significant update to its Galaxy Store, which includes a new Material You icon.

Last year, Samsung released the Material You dynamic app icon for all its major apps. Still, not all of its apps have been updated with the Material You icon. Users who have a Galaxy Smartphone can update their Galaxy Store to get the Material You icon; users need to update their app. If you encounter an error, you can download this APK to update your Galaxy Store to the latest version.

This APK could be really helpful, as some users have reported they have yet to receive the update. Samsung may be rolling out the update in batches, but with the APK, you can download and upgrade your Galaxy Store app. Therefore, only some people like the Material You icon, which gives a consistent UI look. You can disable the Material You dynamic app icon from the device icon.
