The beta version of iOS 15 is available for testing right now ahead of the full release later this year. It features new FaceTime capabilities, updated notifications, and offline support for Siri. During the WWDC21 keynote, Apple announced the new version of iOS and iPadOS. Both developer and public betas will be available to download and test on iPhone and iPad.

The iOS 15 beta measures around 5GB in size. We’ll tell you how to install both betas iOS 15 public beta and developer beta.

How to install the iOS 15 beta

  1. You can’t restore from a backup made in iOS 15 if you downgrade to iOS 14 (If you downgrade to iOS 14, you cannot restore a backup made in iOS 15)
  2. You can check out Apple’s public beta site on your iPhone or iPad
  3. Sign in if you haven’t already if you tap the arrow in the top right corner
  4. Verify that you are on the iOS “Guide for Public Betas”
  5. To enroll your iOS device, scroll down and click Enroll your iOS device
  6. Again, swipe down and tap Download Profile
  7. To download the profile, tap Allow, then hit Close
  8. Tap Profile Downloaded near the top of your device’s Settings
  9. Tap Install in the top right corner, then enter your passcode if necessary
  10. Tap Install twice more after you read the consent agreement
  11. You will need to restart your iPhone or iPad to complete the changes
  12. Go back to Settings > General > Software update after it has rebooted
  13. Tap Download and Install to download and install iOS 15 public beta

How to install iOS 15 developer beta

The Apple Developer Program needs to be enrolled here if you are not already. Alternatively, you can wait for the July launch of the free public beta program.

  1. If you ever want to downgrade your iPhone or iPad, make a new backup with your Mac or PC
  2. Go to Apple’s Developer website on your iPhone or iPad
  3. To sign in, tap the two-line icon in the top left corner.
  4. Again, select Downloads by tapping the two-line icon in the upper left corner
  5. By tapping Install Profile next to the iOS 15 beta or iPadOS 15 beta, you’ll be able to install the profile
  6. To download the profile, tap Allow, then hit Close
  7. Select Profile Downloaded from the top of Settings on your device
  8. Install can be found in the top right corner, enter your passcode if necessary
  9. Tap Install two more times after reading the consent agreement
  10. You will need to restart your iPhone or iPad to complete the changes
  11. Go back to Settings > General > Software update after it has rebooted
  12. Tap Download and Install when you see iOS 15 available
