Google recently announced Android 14, and they have started rolling out the Quarterly Platform Release (QPR1) Beta 2.1, which addresses significant bugs to optimize Android 14 further and improve performance. This update comes after the release of the Pixel 8 Series.

The company has started rolling out the update for supported Pixel devices, including Pixel Fold and tablets.

Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2.1 Fixes

Three major issues were fixed with the QPR1 Beta 2.1 update. It is a minor update that has a relatively small changelog. The update weighs around 60MB, and many features announced during the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are in testing.

  • Fix Biometric Authentication: Users have encountered an issue that prevents them from accessing the Under-Display Fingerprint scanner on AOD enabled.
  • Fixes issues during SIM Swapping, which restricts users from cellular connectivity services.
  • The update also fixes System Stability and Performance.

With this update, the company has also added Video Boost and Night Sight Video, alongside other improvements, which include the ability to use the Pixel as a webcam with a PC. Additionally, Google said to bring Zoom Enhance, New Lock Screen Clock Style, and many more features with the release.

These are not the final releases, as the company aims to add more functionality. Until then, users can easily update their device to the latest version by navigating to Device Settings > System > System Update and tapping Check for updates to download and install.
