Google has officially announced the Android 14 Beta, and several OEMs currently have Android 14 available. This list includes Google Pixel, IQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi. It’s quite easy to download and install on your device. In the following guide, you have all the in-depth information for each smartphone. Builds are built on top of OEMs’ skin based on Android 14.

OEMs have officially released the Android 14 Beta’s first Developer Preview, but all of the builds are still in the early development stage and could take some time before they become stable. To download and install the Android 14 Beta build on your device, we have a specific guide for all the devices, or it is also available on the website of the respective OEMs.

Before proceeding, we would like to mention that all these builds aren’t up-to-date with the latest Google’s Android 14 Beta 2 but will be rolling out to these devices in the following weeks. Also, a lot of features from Android 14 may lack on the Android 14 feature on OEMs expected Google Pixel. It is also advised not to download and flash the Android 14 Beta 2 on your primary device unless you’re a developer who needs to test their app.

Android 14 brings several new features like the new design language with Material You, new multitasking features, privacy and security features, performance improvements, and accessibility features.

Noteworthy

  • Keep a backup of your device. Your device’s storage will be formatted, and all your data will be erased.
  • Your device should have more than 30% battery, and a minimum of 4GB of storage space is available.
  • Carrier version devices (T-Mobile/Verizon) aren’t compatible with the Beta Build.
  • Some apps may not work as expected, including Google apps as well as third-party apps.
  • Android 14 Beta for OEMs may not come with all Stock Android’s Built-in features.
  • ROMs package adapted to the latest Google GMS Package, and original applications that duplicate the GMS package will not be retained.
  • Before proceeding, ensure your device system has been updated to the latest version. Go to Device Settings > System > System Update to check for updates.
  • While upgrading, don’t perform any action like removing the app from the background to ensure a smooth and successful update process.
  • If you encounter any issues during local install, disconnect your device from Wi-Fi and Mobile Device, and try upgrading or rolling back again. If you still encounter the same issue, you can clear line “xvn2”>3 from Software Update > Storage Usages.
  • It’s not recommended to flash this ROMs on your primary device if you have little to no experience in software development.
  • Flash Beta with caution because all the beta has some known issues, and there is a risk of bricking your device. Only proceed when you are aware of what you are doing.

Other tweaks include updated video thumbnails, the share sheet, and predictive back animation. It is expected to be released in Q3 or Q4 of 2023.
