Google is expanding its digital payment solution, Wallet, to five more countries, including Albania, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. It’s already available in 61 countries, and the expanded expansion brings the total number of countries Google Wallet is available to 66. Google Wallet support varies by bank or credit card provider in different countries. With this expansion, Google Wallet is committed to growing digital payments popularity. However, some features are only available in certain countries or regions and on specific devices. Users in these countries can download the Google Wallet app on their Android devices. If NFC is supported, users can tap-to-pay in stores that offer it. These newly added countries also support Wear OS’s Google Wallet.

Google Wallet is now available in 66 countries.

It was previously called Android Pay and rebranded to Google Pay in 2018. It was rebranded as Google Wallet in most regions in 2022. Google Pay is the primary Google Payments app and will automatically be updated and replaced by Google Wallet on both Android and Wear OS.

Users can check if their bank or credit card provider supports Google Wallet by visiting the Google Wallet Support page. This lists all banks and credit card providers that support Google Wallet. If you cannot find your bank, they will accept Google Wallet in the future.

These countries are where Google Wallet is supported, with major banks and card issuers making contactless payments more accessible.

  • North Macedonia: NLB Bank
  • Albania: ProCredit Bank Albania

For users, Google has created a support page for Google Wallet with a list of banks and providers supported in each country. The app isn’t supported on Wear OS in newly added countries and regions. However, an update has been launched in countries where Google Pay’s older version is still available.

Google aims to make it a viable substitute for a physical wallet, supporting IDs, office badges, digital car keys, and more. There are several benefits to using Google Wallet. These include a convenient way to pay and security using secure encryption to protect your payment information. They also include the flexibility to make payments in stores, online, and in-app. In addition, they include the versatility to store various payment information, such as credit cards, debit cards, loyalty cards, and more.
