Samsung enhances Dex Home and System UI with the June 2023 update. This is supported on Galaxy Note and Tab devices. Users are advised to update their Samsung Dex by navigating to Device Settings, selecting Samsung Dex, and then selecting About Samsung Dex. However, this feature is not available on Samsung smartphones. It is supported mostly in the upper-mid-range and high-end segments.

The Dex platform allows users to extend their mobile device to a larger screen by connecting their smartphone or tablet to a monitor, TV, or PC (Windows and macOS). This is done simultaneously while using different apps on their mobile device. It also allows for a powerful desktop experience and is a suitable alternative to Chromebooks. This feature allows you to open multiple windows, drag and drop, and right-click for more functions.

You can use a touch screen, S Pen, USB or Bluetooth mouse, and keyboard cover. With the latest update, there are bug fixes and common improvements. The latest update for Samsung Dex and Home System UI will be rolled out gradually to eligible Galaxy devices. It will roll out to everyone after some time. You can expect this update on your device if you run Android 13.0-based One UI 5.0 or higher.

  • Now, on your device, open the Quick Menu and press the Dex option, where you have the option for Dex on TV or Monitor.
