June has started, and Samsung has started rolling out this month’s security update. The first smartphone to receive this month’s software update is the Galaxy Z Fold4, followed by the Note 20 Series in the US. The company is also releasing the latest update for the Galaxy S22 Series in the US, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and several Latin American countries, including Bolivia and Paraguay. The update will be rolled out to other regions in the coming weeks.

The Galaxy S23 Series has not received any updates due to the camera-centric update, but the device will receive an update in the coming weeks. However, Samsung has released a June 2023 security update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in the US, Germany, and other regions. The update weighs about 332MB and has a build number of S90*EXXS5CWE4. It will improve the device’s overall stability and security functions. The company did not share a detailed changelog, which means little information about what has been improved.

What’s New in the Galaxy S22 Series June Security Update?

Samsung is one of the few smartphone manufacturers that deliver quality software updates on time. The company offers major OS upgrades to its phones for four years and five years of security patches. With the June Security Update, Google addressed 50 security flaws, of which three were classified as critical issues, while 11 security issues were exclusive to Galaxy devices that improved the Knox system, which ensures the security of the software on the device, but not all were applied to all Samsung devices. In total, it includes 60 security flaws fixed by Google and Samsung.

The update doesn’t bring any supplementary features or performance improvements but bug fixes for issues with the camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other features. The specific bugs are not listed. The June security update fixes over 60 vulnerabilities in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. However, some rumors suggest the Galaxy S23 series will bring major camera improvements with the June update.
