LinkedIn announced their new feature, which will allow its users to get a free profile verification badge on their profile at their workplace. It will boost and make it easier for people to identify employment without a price tag like other platforms charging for verification. This new verification badge has a green and blue checkmark labelled as “Verified Workplace” and it will appear next to your profile and also appear on the search results of LinkedIn.

Unlike other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, asking users to pay for a verification badge, Microsoft made the verification badge for free to increase trust with the right verification work to ensure benefits like increasing trust, reducing fraud, attracting more users to join and retain users, and improving search results.

Companies have been looking for more opportunities, especially after the pandemic, as companies are moving more towards organization move to the cloud. Often use LinkedIn primarily, but it’s been difficult to verify the authenticity of the individuals.

Microsoft LinkedIn Free Verification will create a more trustworthy and reliable experience.

Currently, it’s only limited to the United States and Canada over more than 4,000 companies among which LinkedIn plans to start rolling out by the end of April for 2 million LinkedIn users. Currently, there are around 50 million members globally, and it will roll out to other users over time. Members can use the free profile verification by enabling it by heading over to their Profile tab and then choosing the Verification section.

This requires you to submit your Company’s Email address along with Government-issued ID. After LinkedIn verifies you, users will receive confirmation, and then the verification badge will be added to the profile.
