How to Install Android 13 Developer Preview 4 – Step by Step Guide

There are two different methods to install Android 13 on your device, you can either choose OTA Update or locally download and install Android 13 Developer Preview on your device.

Disclaimer: This build is made for developers, also you might require basic troubleshooting and method of flashing because the procedure might vary depending on your device manufacture. It is not advised to install Android 13 on your primary device.

Download and Install Android 13 Developer Preview via OTA

This method is best for those who don’t want to lose data during install the Developer Preview update. You can sign-up for the OTA update, here

. However, if you are already sign-up for the existing Android 13 Developer Preview you can check for any update from settings.

Update to Android 13 Developer Preview 4 from Developer Preview 3

  • Open Device Settings
  • Head over to System
  • Go to System Update

Check for an update if you found any update simply download and install the update.

Sign-in to download and Install Android 13 Developer Preview 4

The signing-up process might take up to 24hours, to participate in the Developer Preview program you should have Pixel 3, pixel 3A, Pixel 4, Pixel 4A, or Pixel 5 series.   • Open Android Developer Preview Program Page
  • Scroll down to Your Eligible device
  • There your eligible device will appear if it not showing your device; ensure that your device is log in with the same Google Account you are using on your browser.
  • Choose and enrol for the Android 13, Confirm your action
  • Once you registered successfully you will receive an update and notification
  • That’s it, Now checks for the update from settings and download OTA Update to upgrade to Android 13 Developer Preview

Android 13 Developer Preview Installation Guide

  • Power off your device
  • Press and hold the Power and Volume key to start the bootloader menu
  • Scroll down to choose Recovery Mode, Use the Volume button for navigation (Up-Down)
  • It opens an Android Robot execution with the ‘?’ sign, Again Press and holds the Power and Volume button to open Full Recovery Mode
  • Look for ‘Apply Update from ADB’ using Navigation button, and to Select use Power Button
  • Now it displays a guide for you to sideload an OTA
  • Connect your Mobile with a PC using the appropriate USB cable, ensure that your computer has ADB Installed.
  • Launch CMD (Command Prompt) on your computer; Launch Terminal on Mac/ Linux
  • Enter adb sideload or enter ./adb sideload on Mac/Linux
  • After that, it asks you to enter the .zip folder name (address) and hit enter to select the file.
  • Your mobile will execute Recovery Mode, you can now disconnect your Android device from your computer.
  • After it, Scroll and Select Reboot Now
  • That’s it, your device will boot into Android 13 Developer Preview

Noteworthy: If you are non-Pixel users then you can use Android Flash Tool to flash Android 13 Developer Preview build on your device. For this you require to connect your Android device with a PC along enabling USB Debugging from the developer’s option; to enable open device settings and then open About device, tap multiple times on Build number to open developer mode. After enabling revert to devise settings and then go to advance settings from their toggle to enable USB debugging.
