Adobe has released an update to Premiere Pro with a text-based video editing feature, similar to Word documents, which creates rough cuts by copying and pasting text. This is an alternative method that allows users to edit videos, especially for those who need experience with video editing. It makes video editing more accessible to a wider range of people, which saves time and effort, as users no longer need to manually trim and arrange clips. With the update, several new features exist, like the ability to automatically generate captions and transcripts. Overall, this improves the quality of the video. Apart from this, Adobe is experimenting with different ideas and compositions.

Additionally, a Background Auto Save feature automatically saves your work in the background every 10 seconds so that users will not lose their progress if an error occurs, there is a power outage, or a crash. Expanded Transcription support will include Danish, which means users who speak Danish can also use videos transcribed automatically. Using GPU acceleration, smooth scrolling allows you to scroll through your project quickly to find the clips and effects you need. There is also improved language support to use Premiere Pro in different languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

AI-Powered Transcript Generation, Ctrl + V – Video

Adobe Premiere Pro Beta gets new text-based editing feature, AI-powered transcript generation to maximize efficiency.

First, transcribe your video footage using Adobe Premiere Pro’s built-in transcription feature, which is typically more accurate than human transcriptions but could be better. After transcribing, you can create rough cuts of your video by simply highlighting the required text from the transcript you want to include and then inserting it into the timeline. With the sequence transcription, you can copy and paste to move clips or delete them from the timeline.

This allows you to experiment with different ideas and compositions. After creating rough cuts, you can refine them using Premiere Pro’s trimming tools. The final product still needs to be refined for all usual audio and color improvements and adding B-Roll.

It uses AI to analyze the audio track of a video. It can identify longer pauses in the audio and mark them with ellipses. Users can hover over the ellipses to see the exact length of the pause. All the edits and changes will immediately be reflected in the timeline. This can be used as an integral part of the workflow and also helps to improve the quality of videos, as users can more easily experiment with different ideas and compositions, saving time and effort, as they no longer need to manually trim and arrange clips.

Last year, Adobe launched Project Blink Beta, a web-based video editor for browsers that allows you to edit your videos, add music and effects, and use AI tools to edit them. This doesn’t require any prior experience with video editing, similar to Word Documents. The company is using the same project on Adobe Premier Pro, and it is also possible that the company will launch a standalone version of Project Blink in the future.

Adobe uses machine learning, like Adobe’s Sensei technology, to power features like automatic color correction and create new tools. It is also making the creative process more affordable by simplifying features like neural filters and the ability to remove objects from an image in one click in photos. These new features make Premier Pro more powerful and optimized to save time, improve your workflow, and make it easier to create better videos. This feature is currently in beta and available to everyone to test. Also, this feature will likely be rolled out later. Adobe has a subscription-based pricing model makes its tools more accessible to people who don’t want to purchase a perpetual license.

When it comes to improvements, there are major improvements with Apple Trackpads and the Magic Mouse, which means the scrolling and zooming in and out of videos will be smoother and more responsive. Adobe also added support for cinematic clips shot on iPhone’s Cinema Mode, which means users can import their iPhone’s Cinema Mode to create videos with cinematic looks and feel.

The company is also working on using Adobe Sensei, artificial intelligence technology, on transcribing videos and creating transcripts where the changes will be reflected in the video while editing the transcript. Users can also make changes like correcting mistakes or adding new information. It can also be used to create a video from scratch by simply typing in the text you want to appear in the video.
