According to reliable sources, Vivo is working on two new foldable phones for the Chinese market, the Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip, with plans to launch them in the first half of 2022. The key specifications of the X Fold 2, as shared by a tipster, include a foldable display with a 2K resolution and under-screen fingerprint scanners on both the front and inner displays. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and is expected to be lightweight, considering that the previous Vivo X Fold, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, weighed 311 grams upon its release in the first half of 2022.

In comparison, the Vivo X Fold+ with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor weighs approximately 235 grams and was announced earlier this month in China. It is worth noting that Vivo is likely working on reducing the weight of the X Fold 2.

As for the Vivo X Flip, little is known except that it will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. It was also mentioned by the tipster that Vivo does not plan to release a successor to the Vivo X Note, which featured a 50-megapixel quad camera and a 5,000mAh battery.

Vivo released two models in its X-series this year, the Vivo X80 and Vivo X90, and plans to launch only one generation of X-series phones next year.
