Qualcomm announced their latest processor, Budget Soc, and directly competing against MediaTek. Their last Soc, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, doesn’t arrive in India, but the budget segment looks promising. Qualcomm was trying to capture the market, Which is now dominated by Mediatek, since it provides 5G connectivity for under Rs 15,000.

Now Qualcomm is expanding 5G with the new processor and fixing predecessor failure where it lost the 4K Video recording support and more. Finally, With Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and 4 Gen 1 is here with the fix. Let’s take a closer look at it and know more about it.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 1

This Soc is competing against the MediaTek Dimensity 810, which will power the device for under Rs 15,000. The processor can support 120Hz FHD+, 108MP Camera, but there isn’t 4K video recording; instead, it is capped at 1080p @60fps.

You will get NaVIC support, LPDDR4x RAM, eMMC, UFS 2.2 Storage support, and Qualcomm X55 (5G) modem support. There is dynamic spectrum sharing, NSA (Non-Standalone 5G), and SA (Standalone 5G). You can expect a Dual 5G smartphone with this chipset if we compare it with its predecessor Snapdragon 480+, with 15% CPU and 10% GPU improvements. With 35% GPU performance, 40% CPU performance jump, and 10-bit HDR gaming support, the device might be available for under Rs 20,000.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1

The camera will support 200MP with HDR, 4K HDR @30fps Video recording, 4K video playback, and AI connectivity are more powerful. Talking about Snapdragon X62 5G modem, Wifi6 Enhanced, all MW waves, and good 5G support. LPDDR5, UFS 3.1, NaVIC, Full HD+ 120Hz refresh rate and Dual-5G sim support come with this Mobile platform.
