Today, we’re here to share some knowledge to help you with the error “Photoshop RAM error in the 1803 update of Windows 10,” as reported on the Microsoft Community. Once a project is saved and reopened, Photoshop requires a lot of RAM to open the file. Next, let’s go through the steps to troubleshoot Photoshop errors.

Adobe Photoshop is one of the most popular editing software tools across the globe, offering every possible manipulation in editing software. It is reported that while working on any significant project, Photoshop requires many rams to increase productivity.

How to Fix: “Could not Complete Your Request Because There is Not Enough Memory (RAM).”

Fixing the Photoshop not having enough RAM error on Windows 10 is relatively easy. Follow the instructions below:

Method 1: Disable Physical Memory

You need at least 1.5 GB of memory to run Photoshop on your computer. If you’re working on a heavy project, it’s recommended to have a powerful GPU.

If this method does not resolve your problem, consider using Windows 10 version 1803 instead. Follow these instructions step by step:

  • First, open RUN (Windows + R) and type “regedit.exe.”
  • Then, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER and navigate to Software > Adobe > Photoshop > 130.0.
  • In the 130.0 folders, create a document folder named “DWORD (32-bit) Value.”
  • In the right pane, rename the file “OverridePhysicalMemoryMB.”
  • Right-click to change its value, set the base as decimal, and click OK.
  • Re-launch Photoshop and go to Edit (upper left corner) > Preferences > Performance. Use the slider to set it between 70% and 80%.
  • Restart your computer, re-launch Photoshop, and save the changes.
  • That’s it.

Method 2: Revert to Windows 10 Version 1803 or Update

This problem began with Windows 10 version 1803, affecting Adobe Photoshop versions 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Rolling back or updating Windows 10 might fix the problem. Follow this guide step by step:

  • Update to the latest Windows 10 update.
  • Click Start and open Settings on Windows.
  • Select Update & Security and check for updates.
  • Update and restart your PC if you find any updates.
  • If you don’t see any updates, revert back to the original.
  • Roll back to the previous Windows 10 update.
  • Click Start and open Windows Settings.
  • After that, click Update & Security and the Recovery button.
  • Select Get started to control, and then click Next.
  • Choose the on-screen option.
  • Click Next, and hopefully, it gets fixed.
  • That’s it.
