Meta (owns Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oclus, Giphy, Mapillary, and more, including a 9.99% stake in Jio Platform). We all know Meta generates 97.5% of its revenue from advertisement placement. For this, they collect data for which it has numerous lawsuits against the company.

Even more, they have been accused of dark things like toxicity for teen girls, for which they have started developing Instagram kids but been taken down due to legislative pressure. Recently, Meta paid $900 million for privacy lawsuits.

Meta has announced their new Privacy Policy with more details about the data they collect and there is no new data collection term added in the update. Meta said they gather user feedback and privacy expert options in order to rewrite their privacy policy so users can understand their privacy policy better.

So, it’s on us to have strong protections for the data we use and be transparent about how we use it. ”
