Leica Leitz Phone 2 is the second generation handset from the German camera manufacturer. This year’s Leitz Phone 2 is based on the Aquos R7. Rebranded phones only differ in color and software from the originals.

‘Leica White’ is the only color option available for the Leica Leitz Phone 2. In case you weren’t aware, the Leitz Phone 1 came in black. On the body of the smartphone, there is no ‘Leica’ branding. Instead, it uses the ‘Leitz’ branding. You can find it on the lens cap accessory included in the box, on the camera ring, and on the center of the rear panel. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. There is a MicroSD card slot that allows you to expand the storage up to 1TB. In addition to its Pro IGZO OLED screen, it boasts a 10-bit color depth, 240Hz refresh rate, and 2,000 nits peak brightness. Dolby Vision is supported by the centered punch-hole panel, which also houses an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP68 rating (dust and water resistance), 5,000mAh battery, wireless charging, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, and a USB Type-C port.

The Leica Leitz Phone 2 costs ¥225,360 ($1,540) in Japan. Starting November 18, it will be available for purchase.
