Google start rolling out their latest version of YouTube, where it brings Picture-in-Picture functionality. iPhone also does support this feature since their last-iOS update, so if you wonder how, you can use PIP mode with YouTube on iPhone.

Before proceeding, you need to know that it is still in the BETA stage of development, and you require YouTube Premium to use Picture in Picture mode. So, without further ado, let’s check it out.

  • Open YouTube.com/new on your device, ensure that you have login with your Google Account
  • Scroll down the page until you found ‘Picture-In-Picture on iOS.’
  • Click on it, and tap on the ‘Try it out button
  • After that, Open the YouTube app on your iOS device
  • Play video that you want to watch, and then press the home button to close the YouTube app
  • Therefore, the YouTube Video start floating on top of the window.
  • That’s it!

On the Picture in Picture Mode, Video continues to play, and it has all controls. To end the PIP Mode, click on the ‘X’ icon, which appears on the screen’s upper-left corner. After closing the PIP Window, it reverts to YouTube App.
