You can either use your iPhone’s built-in app or a third-party video editing tool from the App Store. The latest version of iOS comes with built-in media apps and tools to create a loop video, so let’s take a closer look at it.

Create a Loop Video Using Live Photos on iPhone.

Live Photo is a new feature that allows its users to create a loop video on their iPhone. We’re first going to try this feature and later move to another.

Open the Camera app and tap to focus on the object for which you want to create a loop video.
After that, tap on the Live Photo button that appears in the middle of the camera app.
Now press and hold the shutter button to start recording.
Release the shutter button, then click on the preview box to view the image which appears in the bottom-left corner of the app.

As we have recorded our first video, you can also use pre-recorded live photos for this purpose which you can open from your Library or Photos app.

It will open in your Library, where you can select which recording you want to make into a loop.
Once you open that image, click on the Live icon placed in the upper-left corner of the screen
This will open a drop-down menu where you can choose the Loop option

That’s it!

Create a Loop Video Using the Photos App

Open the Photos app and choose the video that you want to loop.
Once it opens in full-screen, tap on the triple-horizontal bar to open more options.
From there, first, make a duplicate of that video by tapping on Duplicate and then duplicate it one more time.
After that, open that video once again, and from the more options, tap on Slideshow.
On the bottom right, you have the option to tap on it and then toggle to enable Repeat.
Adjust with the slider how your first copy and the second copy of the video will loop in the Slideshow.
That’s it!

Now you have a loop file on your iPhone. You can start sharing this file with anyone.

Create a Loop Video on iPhone using Pages.

Open Pages and create a new blank document by clicking on the plus icon in the upper-right corner of the display.
In the Pages document, tap on the plus icon in the navigation menu and then select Photos or Video.
After that, it will ask you to select which video you want to add to the page.

Now select the paintbrush from the navigation menu, and from that dialog box, select Movie and then choose Loop from Repeat options.
That’s it! Now your video will play in a loop.

Create a Loop Video with Third-party App

We suggest using Looper, which is one of the great apps for creating loop videos on iPhone. This app is available for free on App Store and can be helpful if you have an older version of iOS without this feature.

Open Looper and tap on plus icon placed in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
From the options, choose Camera Roll, then choose the video you want to make into a loop video.
After choosing a video by clicking Choose button in the bottom-right corner of the app, it will open a new widget with a set of presets for your video.
Drag a white circle into your video to make it into the loop.
Once satisfied with the video click the checkmark to save the changes
After making changes, export it to your Video gallery by clicking the triple-vertical dot menu
Tap Download, and that’s it!

Your Loop video is now saved to your Video Gallery. From there, you can share the video on your platform of choice. If you don’t like this app, you can try the iMovie Video Editor, which also allows you to make a Loop video on your iPhone. To do this, follow this guide:

Download and install iMovie from the App Store on your iPhone.
Open iMovie and tap “Continue” on the Welcome Screen.
Create a new project by clicking “Start a New Project” and selecting “Video.”
Select the video file that you want to loop.
After choosing the video file, tap “Create Movie.”
Below the timeline, there is an option to duplicate it. Tap it and increase the duration for as long as you want the video to play.
Once satisfied with it, click “Done” in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Finally, tap on the Share button at the bottom of the screen, then tap “Save Video” to save it to a gallery or share it directly to social media.

To make things even better, Meta’s Instagram has its own tool called Boomerang, which works great with iPhone for making Loop videos:

Download and install Boomerang on your iPhone.
Launch the app and tap “Get Started” then “OK” to grant Boomerang camera permission by tapping “Allow Access to All Photos.”
Next, tap on the shutter button, which will open the camera preview from where you can select either the front camera or selfie shooter for recording video.
Start recording the video, and once finished, it will ask you to select a segment meaning how much of recorded footage you want to be included in the final video, along with the speed and number of loops desired.
After that, tap “Save,” which will save the video in the gallery.

Open YouTube and go to the video that you want to loop in.
After opening the video, tap on the settings button, which appears in the upper-right corner of the video as a gear icon.
From there, choose “Loop Video,” and that’s it!

Instagram natively offers this feature, but the video quality might not be as great as with the stock camera and its functionality.
