Snapchat is one of the most popular social media platforms among teenagers, and it’s safe to say that most people use it for personal purposes. One of its most prominent features is the story function, and they have also started refining its privacy options.
Like other platforms’ stories, Snapchat Stories last 24 hours before disappearing. It does have options to hide and edit who can see your Snapchat story. In this article, we will share how you can hide your Snapchat story with the following instructions.
How to Manage Who Can View Your Snapchat Stories
- Open Snapchat and tap on your profile icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- Click on Settings (gear icon) on the right side of the app.
- Scroll down and find the “View My Story” option under “Who Can….”
- Choose who can view your Snapchat Stories from the options “Everyone,” “Friends Only,” or “Custom” based on your preference.
How to Hide All Snapchat Stories
If you don’t want to share snaps with everyone, you don’t need to hide all your snaps. Instead, select people from your contact list in the Privacy section and enable “Friends Only” so that all your followers who aren’t friends won’t be able to see your story.
How to Hide Other People’s Snapchat Stories
If you don’t want to see other people’s stories but don’t want to unfollow them, you can hide their snaps with the following instructions:

- Click on the gear icon to open Settings in the screen’s upper-right corner.
