It’s no longer possible to keep an app’s windows ungrouped with the Never combine option in the taskbar settings. The good news is that there are tech-savvy individuals who can always tweak a system to their liking, so you can get the same results by using a method.

How to enable Windows 11 Taskbar Never Combine

The experienced user who wanted to take advantage of the old way of doing things devised a way to do so. After achieving the same results, he shared his process on social media, where it was well-received.

Follow these simple steps to achieve the same results:

  1. Create shortcuts to Powershell and Edge on your desktop.
  2. Download and install the Winaero Tweaker.
  3. Winaero should show a classic taskbar and a start menu if you enable that option

Enter your account again after restarting your PC or logging out.

As of now, the taskbar seems to have been changed. However, the Windows button doesn’t work, and the date, volume, and others are not visible.

  1. However, this can be resolved with the following steps.
  2. Run this command by pressing Windows + R:
    shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}
  3. Activate all the options under Turn system icons on or off, then click OK.
  4. Run Edge and install the Classic Start menu.
  5. Run PowerShell in admin mode and run the following command to ungroup the taskbar buttons:
    REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced " /v TaskbarGlomLevel /t REG_DWORD /d 2

Restart your computer.

You might want to consider that this is not a system default option before performing these changes.

When you’re ready to install Windows 11 Insider build for the first time, you can use the below steps if this is something you’re accustomed to during Windows 10.
