Download Android 13 GApps to flash on the Android 13 Custom ROM.

Google Mobile Service is an integrated part of Android, and it brings a lot of functionality to the device, which includes entertainment things like YouTube and the Google Play Store to download apps. If you flash a custom ROM on your device, which doesn’t have Google Apps by default, you need to manually install the Google App by using Gapps. You can find a different combination of Gapps, a packed set of Google applications.

Download Gapps for Android 13.

There are various Gapps available to download, most of which are open-source and developed by well-known developers.

Pre-Requirements

  • Your device should charge above 80%.
  • Check the Gapps package with your device’s CPU architecture.
  • Your device should have TWRP.

How to Install Gapps on Android 13

Note: Do consider flashing the Gapps with the rom. Do Clean Flash,

  • Starting with botting your device to the TWRP Recovery Mode.
  • To start flashing Gapps, we will first clean for this. Tap on the wipe button.
  • Check the checkbox for all except your storage (like internal storage, microSD cards, and USB-OTG).
  • Next, swipe to wipe; revert back to the menu once it finishes.
  • Now you can start flashing your ROM by tapping on the Install Menu.
  • Browse your file from device storage. First, choose your ROM and add the Gapps file by clicking on the Add More Zip.
  • After that, swipe to install and wait for it to install.
  • For encrypted users: Do wipe with Format Data, Decrypted Users: You must install the DFE file.
  • Click on Reboot; that’s it!

Alternative: You can use the GApps Installer.

In this way, you can download and install the Google Apps after flashing the custom ROM on your Android device. For this, you need to have Google Installer; you can download Google Installer here.

  • Start by downloading the Google Installer, and then tap on it to begin installing it on your device.
  • After that, it will ask you to grant permission to install Gapps from an unknown source.
  • Next, you need to accept it and wait for it to finish installing on your device.
  • That’s it, and you need to restart your app.

How to Update Your Lineage OS

Your device will get an OTA update.

  • Open Device Settings and scroll down to System.
  • Under System, go to Update. Click on it, and there you have your update.
  • Download, and once it downloads, click on the three-dot menu at the top of the Install button.
  • Click on Export Update, and then browse to the location where you want to save the file.
  • Alternative: You can download from LineagueOS Downloads to save on your external storage.
  • Next, you need to download the latest version of Gapps based on your Android version (recommended: NikGApps) and save it to external storage.

Update LineagueOS ROM: Follow-up

  • Now, boot your device into TWRP Recovery with your combination key.
  • Next, once your LineagueOS Recovery Option opens, tap on Factory Reset.
  • Then, tap on Format Cache Partition; tap on Apply Update.
  • Choose “Choose From SDCard1” and browse your ROM first from your storage.

Update Gapps: Follow-up

  • Click on it, and the update will take some time once it flashes successfully.
  • Tap again “Choose from SDCard1” and browse the new Gapps file.
  • If it asks for Signature Verification after a failed installation, tap Yes to continue.
  • That’s it!

Once everything is finished, you need to clear the cache. 

If you are upgrading the Android version of your device, then, in this case, format the data or factory reset. If we are only doing weekly updates, then you don’t need to format the data.

  • Go back to the main page, and click on Factory Reset.
  • Next, click on Format Cache Partition.
  • Tap Yes, and then tap Reboot System.
  • That’s it
